·
Fully opened up lapbook - front

Inside: flag & info on flag from enchanted learning.

·      Map from EHE answer key

·      Land regions cards – Katie filled in simple questions by looking at the World Book encyclopaedia.

·      Time zones thing – from India lapbook source.

·      “Famous Russians” cards by cutting out and filling in EHE p.110 “Russian Rulers”
·      “Russian Fast Facts: capital, population, language & currency – I made for her to fill in.

·      Recipes from internet: Piroshki (meat pasties) and Letnie Schi (Russian green soup) – both were delicious.

·      Russian ballet minibook – I suggested who should go in; she researched and did one page on each person – brief biography etc. Because she’s interested in ballet.

Art:
·      Drawing inspired by St.Basil’s Cathedral – from here: http://www.deepspacesparkle.com/2009/11/27/line-and-color-art-lessons-for-kids/
Katie loved working on this project, and the final result was really pleasing. (Laminated it and used as the back vcover of the lapbook.)

·      Saw this, after K had already done the front cover, but thought it looked fun: http://www.deepspacesparkle.com/2011/12/12/patterned-matryoshka-dolls/
·      Bought a Russian dolls for Katie to paint from Amazon. She spent hours on it, and the results were very pleasing.  Well worth the money we paid for them.
